A total of 58 people died while 175 others were missing on Tuesday in rainstorm-led floods and landslides in China's southwestern Sichuan Province.
Sichuan's Flood and Drought Prevention Department announced that 47 people died in a landslide hitting a village in Dujiangyan City, and 117 others went missing.
Some 13,400 houses were reported to have collapsed, leaving 3.47 million people affected by the floods.
Heavy rainfall and the following disaster forced 300 thousand people to relocate, causing direct economic loss of 20.2 billion yuan, about USD3.30 billion, the officials added.
