The owner of a pickle factory in Pakistan has died after suffocating in a chemical tank along with five workers who tried to save him.
The bodies of the six people were recovered from the empty underground chemical tank at the factory in the southern port city of Karachi, police and doctors said on Sunday.
The factory owner in the eastern town of Korangi had fallen into the underground chemical tank accidently during a routine examination on Sunday, police said.
Six workers climbed into the tank to rescue him, but five of them and the owner suffocated, said city police chief Munir Shaikh.
One worker was rescued, said Shaikh, adding that the factory had been set up in a residential area in violation of planning rules.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
