At least two police officers were killed and three officers in a bomb attack in the northern Faryab province of Afghanistan on Tuesday.

Faryab Police Chief Nabi Jan Mullakhail said a road-side bomb that was detonated while a police vehicle was passing by left two police officers dead and three other officers injured in Faryab's Pashtun Kot district.

However, Taliban spokesperson Zabihollah Mujaheed claimed that the blast destroyed two police vehicles while claiming lives of 11 police officers.

Meanwhile, another blast by a road-side bomb en route to the provincial airport left three people injured in the western Herat province, one police officer and two civilians, as announced by Afghan security forces.
