Turkish-born Australian member of Parliament Mehmet Tillem, aged 39, will fill the vacancy left by Senator David Feeney from the Labor Party.

He will fill the Senate vacancy until July, 2014 when Feeney's term in office expires.  

If he wins elections set for September 7, he will ensure a six-year term in the Australian Parliament.
