Ten miners were killed in a fire accident in a sulphur mine in northern Shanxi province of China.

There were a total of 27 workers in the mine in the province's Chengcheng county when the fire broke out.

Rescuers managed to rescue 17 of the trapped workers.

According to official reports, 1,384 miners were killed last year in mine accidents which are common in China.
