At least 75 people were killed in flash floods triggered by heavy rain on Sunday, in the northern part of Afghanistan.

Head of the natural disaster management department in the flood-hit Baghlan province, Muhammad Nasir Kohzad, said that 75 bodies had so far been found in Guzargahi Nur district. He added that tens of people are still missing.

He also stated that approximately 5,000 houses had been destroyed. Search and rescue operations are still underway.

Almost two months ago, around 200 people were killed in floods due to heavy rain in Afghanistan.
