Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin today said India welcomed Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's hand of friendship, responding to the Pakistan premier’s call for a new beginning in relations with India amid tension over recent LoC ceasefire violations.
He said India was committed to resolve all outstanding issues with Pakistan through a peaceful bilateral dialogue in an environment free from violence.
Akbaruddin, however, said India wanted to tell Pakistan that there would be no talks if Islamabad failed to respond to New Delhi’s concerns. He also asked Pakistan to respond immediately on the killing of five Indian soldiers along the LoC recently.
He asserted that upholding the sanctity of the LoC was vital.Güncelleme Tarihi: 13 Ağustos 2013, 17:39
