Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the international condemnation of a Taliban attack on a school in Pakistan's northwestern city of Peshawar Tuesday.

Modi called the attack, which has so far killed at least 100 people, mostly students, a “cowardly terrorist attack.”

“It is a senseless act of unspeakable brutality that has claimed lives of the most innocent of human beings – young children in their school,” Modi wrote on Twitter.

Nazifullah Salarzai, the spokesperson for Afghan President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai, wrote on Twitter that "President Ghani strongly condemns the terrorist attack on a school in Peshawar."

Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has called for three days of national mourning.
