Kashmiri students continue strike against Indian police

The students of Wadoora Agriculture College in Sopore continued their strike against the use of brute force by Indian police on students a few days ago in Kashmir.

The students of Wadoora Agriculture College while demanding action against the Deputy Superintendent of Police who ordered action against students and faculty members during a protest against anti-people policies of the puppet administration, reported Kashmir Media Service. 

The students are on indefinite strike until an action was taken against the erring police official.

Last Thursday, students staged a protest outside the college on Sopore-Kupwara highway against shortage of LPG supply to the college hostel.

In the meantime, a police party led by a Deputy Superintendent arrived on the scene and resorted to baton charge and teargas shelling in which nearly 30 students and faculty members were injured.

“We have decided to continue our strike till authorities take a concrete action against the erring police official,” Jan Shahid, President Students Association, Wadoora College, told a Srinagar-based daily.
