Kyrgyzstan has recalled its ambassador to neighboring Tajikistan following an incident with a border dispute.
The construction of a new road by Kyrgyz authorities sparked a shootout between border guards hurting six Tajik and five Kyrgyz security officials.
Authorities from both sides have now agreed to withdraw their security forces from the border areas, as joint patrolling in the disputed areas restarted.
