The wife of Malaysian Prime Minister has sent checks worth 5,000 USD each to the families of nine Turkish victims who were killed in an Israeli attack on ships carrying aid materials to Gaza on May 31.

In a press release, the Governorship of south-eastern province of Sanliurfa said Wednesday that Mrs. Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor has sent a letter of condolence and a check worth 5,000 USD to the families of each victim.

The checks were sent to the families of the Turkish victims by the Turkish Embassy in Kuala Lumpur.

Sanliurfa Governor Nuri Okutan gave a check to Habip Yaldiz, the brother of Fahri Yaldiz who was killed in the Israeli attack and later buried in Adiyaman.

Speaking while giving Yaldiz's check, Governor Okutan said that "I am presenting this check to you in the name of Fahri Yaldiz. We express our appreciation to Mrs. Mansor on behalf of all Sanliurfa residents and you".

Habip Yaldiz, in his part, said that they would donate the check to an aid society.
