Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu will travel to Myanmar in order to monitor the problems of Rohingya Muslims as the OIC itself is getting ready for a summit in Cairo in 2013.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the OIC said that a delegation from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry was in Jeddah in preparation for the OIC summit.
"The Egyptian officials held talks with OIC executives in Jeddah. An OIC delegation travelled to Cairo on Tuesday in preparation for the summit," the OIC said in its statement.
Among the agenda items of the OIC summit, there would be Syria, the Palestinian problem, the situation in Myanmar, Islamophobia and other important topics related to Islamic countries, the OIC statement also said.
