Pakistan's army has destroyed the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan's central media center during its ongoing ground invasion of the restive region of North Waziristan, army spokesperson said on Wednesday.

Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa told reporters that the media center was operating from the town of Miranshah -- the administrative headquarters of North Waziristan -- and was being used to propagate the militant group's activities.

General Bajwa said the army was carefully engaged in clearing the region amid military operations as rebels had planted landmines on several spots to hurt the soldiers.

A senior military official told the Anadolu Agency that it was equipped with latest facilities, and being run by the militant group's spokesman, Shahidullah Shahid.

There is no information on whereabouts of Shahid who remained in constant touch with national and international media until June 15, the day the army launched a much-demanded onslaught on North Waziristan.

We have no information whether he is alive or dead," the official said.
