Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muahhamd Yasin Malik, pro-freemdom fighters jointly addressed a crowd from a joint platform stressing for unity among leadership and people. All these leaders had gone to Narbal to express solidarity with the bereaved family of Suhail Ahmed Sofi who was killed in police firing on Friday.

The Hurriyet leaders addressing mourners appealed the people and showed a united front and pledged that the precious blood of the martyrs would not be allowed to go waste. On the occasion, they expressed solidarity with Abdul Ahad Sofi, father of Shaheed Suhail Ahmad Sofi.

The Hurriyet leaders demanded that some third party must investigate the murder case of Suhail so that justice was done and the culprits were brought to book. “Everybody knows that Rafiq Ahmad Dar and Umar Ahmad Dar were martyred in 2008 and 2010 respectively, in the same area and the same kinds of investigations were ordered but the murderers are still roaming freely,” they said, adding that a probe by some impartial body should be conducted so that the killers of Shaheed Suhail were punished.

Mirwaiz announced that the people of Kashmir are united and one in their goal and the mission of martyrs would be taken to its destination with complete unity of purpose and commitment. Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik said that budding youth are the source of energy for nations but alas! “Our budding flowers are been trampled by Indian occupational forces.”

They also paid tributes to Shaheed Suhail Ahmad, Shaheed Khalid Muzaffar and Shaheed Mohammad Younis Ganai. Reiterating their stance they said that unless and until India accepted the facts vis-à-vis Kashmir dispute the bloodshed would not stop. They said that New Delhi must confess that it was occupying Kashmir only by its military might and Kashmiris had made their mind once for all to break the chains of slavery.  In their speech they also said that the tactics of suppression and oppression is not going to change the fundamental realities of Kashmir issue nor is it going to put the issue under the carpet for ever.

He said that non violent political movement needs space but so called democratic India instead of providing that space is hell-bent upon choking that space.
