The Taliban has closed its Doha, Qatar office temporarily over reactions to remove the sign they had put up which identifies the movement as 'the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan'.
The Taliban opened its office on June 18. Afghanistan's President Hamid Karzai lashed out at Taliban's Qatar office opening and warned that it might affect Kabul-Washington relations.
Meanwhile, the US asked the Qatari government to remove the sign. The sign was removed and the flag was lowered half-staff.
