Serbia lost the final battle to oppose the recognition of Kosovo by UEFA. The appeal of the Serbian Federation was rejected this Tuesday by the court of Sport Arbitration.

Serbian Federation based its complaint in its article 5, paragraph 1 of the rules of UEFA, according to the Serbian interpretation stipulates that a federation can not be accepted without joining UEFA before the UN.

This claim was rejected by the interpretation made by the panel of CAS.

CAS noted that these criteria are met in the case of KFF. ''This was confirmed by the approach taken by the majority of member countries of FIFA, who received KFF as a new member of UEFA's for this reason, the demand of the Serbian Football Federation falls,'' the argument of CAS said.

Kosovo was admitted bt UEFA in May last year and a few weeks later was formalized and also accepted by FIFA.

These recognitions followed Kosovo's participation in the World Cup and  in European competitions.
