Macedonia to take over COE chairmanship, Turkish FM set to join

The Council of Europe (COE) Committee of Ministers will convene in Strasbourg on May 11.

Turkey's Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu will be in attendance at the meeting.

Follow-up to the Conference on the Future of the European Court of Human Rights (Interlaken, February 2010), situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, conflict in Georgia, relations with the European Union, and reform process of the COE will top agenda of the meeting to be chaired by Micheline Calmy-Rey, Head of Switzerland's Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.

At the end of the session, Macedonia will take over the chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers from Switzerland for the next six months.

The Committee of Ministers is formed by foreign ministers or state secretaries for European Affairs of the Council of Europe's 47 member states.
