Russia's anti-terror operations in the republic of Dagestan, in the North Caucasus region, have resulted in the deaths of two freedom fighters and a security guard Tuesday.
During Tuesday's operations, police discovered an underground shelter belonging to the insurgents in the village of Gimry of Untsukulsky district, local sources said.
On Monday, two insurgents were also killed in the northern Khasavyurtovsky district.
Russia is fighting against the "Caucasus Emirate", which has carried out numerous attacks in the country with the purported aim of establishing an independent ISIL.
Following a series of attacks between 2009 and 2014, the "Caucasus Emirate" has been recognized as a terrorist organization by the U.K., the U.S., Russia and the United Nations.
