An unusual sand storm covered large parts of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) yesterday.
According to the country's Environment and Natural Reserves Ministry, the storm has affected the cities of Lefkosa (Nicosia), Girne (Kyrenia), and Gazimagosa (Famagusta), as well as the areas of Kalecik (Gastria), Teknecik and Alevkayasi.
Elderly people and children in particular have been advised to stay indoors as the dust may have negative effects on health.
