UN under-secretary-general for humanitarian affairs and emergency relief coordinator has said that Turkey spent 150 million USD so far for Syrians who are currently staying in Turkey after fleeing clashes in their country.

Replying questions at UN on Wednesday, Valerie Amos said that Turkey erected several camps for Syrians whose cost was approximately 150 million USD for Turkey.

Amos defined Syrians who are currently staying in Turkey as asylum-seekers. "They are not considered refugees, but asylum-seekers. Turkish government have been hosting them," stated Lady Amos.

Amos previously served as British High Commissioner to Australia and Leader of the House of Lords.
