Aydin attends first Turkey-Syria scientific researches forum

Turkish State Minister Mehmet Aydin attended the First Turkey-Syria Scientific Researches Forum that began in Aleppo on Wednesday.

In a speech delivered at the forum which took place at the Aleppo University, Aydin said that the two countries shared common values and understandings.

We can not solve certain problems without working hand in hand, Aydin stressed.

Issues such as human resources, environment, and energy are ones that are constantly researched in the scientific world, Aydin underlined.

Minister Aydin provided information on Turkey's policies regarding science and technology in his speech.

Reminding all that he was received by Syrian President Bashar al-Asad, Aydin said that al-Asad viewed the Turkish delegation as a "very special" one.

"Mr. al-Asad said that he had full support for scientific relations between Turkey and Syria," Aydin noted.

The forum will continue on Thursday with speeches to be delivered by both Turkish and Syrian scholars.
