Turkish Parliament Speaker Mehmet Ali Sahin received Burhanuddin Rabbani, the head of Afghan Peace Council, in Ankara on Tuesday.
Noting that four basic elements were important in Turkey-Afghanistan relations, Sahin said that those were national unity and integrity of Afghanistan, security and stability of the country, a wide-based pluralistic political structure, and peace and prosperity of Afghan people.
Turkey will continue to support Afghanistan on the basis of these elements, he noted.
Sahin said that Afghan Parliament held a meeting on January 26, which was pleasing, but still could not elect the parliament speaker and set the parliamentary committees. He added that Turkish Parliament would strengthen relations with Afghan Parliament after these processes were completed.
On the other hand, Rabbani said that Afghanistan received very much help from Turkey, adding that Turkey extended support in training of Afghan army and police force as well as in health area.
Rabbani said that Afghanistan welcomed the investments of Turkish companies in the country.
He said that Afghan Parliament would be pleased to benefit from experiences of Turkish Parliament.
He also met Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
