Spokesperson for the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Selcuk Unal said Tuesday that the letter brought to Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu by the Egyptian
Ambassador in Ankara, Abdurrahman Selahaddin, did not carry any statement of protest.
Commenting on news reports of Monday on Davutoglu's meeting with the Egyptian Ambassador, Unal said that Ambassador Selahaddin conveyed Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Ali Aboul Gheit's letter to Davutoglu.
The letter given to Davutoglu had a positive tone and did not carry any statement of protest. The letter was related to recent developments in Egypt. Davutoglu had an opportunity to learn more about the recent situation in Egypt from the Egyptian Ambassador, Unal said.
Selcuk Unal said that a response will be made to Gheit's letter.
