Sameh Shoukry, the Egyptian foreign minister will visit Turkey for the first time in three years.
The minister will also partake in the OIC meeting that will take place in Istanbul during the 14th-15th April with represenatives from Iraq, Iran, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Azerbeijan as well as leaders from 56 different Islamic countries.
Meeting with Turkish foreign minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, the meeting will the first step towards the normalisation of relations with Egypt after relations between the two countries
Although it is not officially confirmed yet, Turkish media claimed Sameh Shoukry, Egypt's foreign minister, may come for the OIC summit in Turkey, marking a first official step between the two.
Diplomatic ties between Turkey and Egypt broke off after the ouster of former President Mohamed Morsi in 2013 amid popular protests. Turkey says it does not recognize administration of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi as legitimate.
