Greece's minister says several taboos broken in Turkey ties

Greece's alternate foreign minister said on Thursday that Greece was ready to discuss every reasonable and sound argument with Turkey.

Delivering a speech in a meeting in the Greek parliament, Alternate Foreign Minister Dimitris Droutsas said that several taboos were broken between Turkey and Greece with progress in the relations.

Droutsas said they were aware of antitheses, but they would not allow these antitheses to dynamite expectations and opportunities in Turkish-Greek cooperation.

Regarding Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to Athens, Droutsas said that it was the first step of a new process launched between Turkey and Greece. Erdogan's visit was a successful one and it was an important beginning for the two countries, he added.
