Iran said on Monday a nuclear fuel swap would take place in Turkey based on an agreement that the Islamic Republic discussed with Turkish and Brazilian leaders in Tehran.

"The agreement will be signed immediately after the meeting and the swap will take place in Turkey," Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast told reporters, according to Reuters news agency.

Turkey, Brazil and Iran have agreed on a joint formula about nuclear fuel swamp between Iran and the western countries.

Turkey's Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Foreign Minister Celso Amorim of Brazil and Foreign Minister Manuchehr Motaki of Iran reached an agreement after almost 18 hours of negotiations.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President Mahmud Ahmadinejad of Iran and President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva are expected to make a joint statement about the agreement on Monday.
