Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Ali Nikzad has stressed that they finalized Iran's 120 tonnes of rail track purchase from Turkey with Turkish Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Binali Yildirim.
Minister Nikzad and the group alongside him travelled with High Speed Rail (HSR) trains in order to investigate them.
Nikzad had an Ankara-Polatli round trip with HSR trains. Director General of General Directorate of State Railways of the Republic of Turkey (TCDD), Suleyman Karaman accompanied Iranian minister during the trip.
Speaking to journalists in the train, Nikzad said that they came to Turkey with First-Vice President of Iran Mohammed Reza Rahimi after the invitation of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Nikzad stated that they decided to visit Minister Yildirim and previously they sent a team of his assistants who were in charge of land, air, railway and marine transportation. He also added that on Thursday night they held negotiations regarding the subject with Turkish bureaucrats.
Nikzad claimed that they took important decisions over the land transportation and noted that they will be doing their upmost for finding solutions over the problems of it.
Minister Nikzad thanked Director of TCDD Karaman for the opportunity to visit and observe HSR trains.
