Israel asks US to ban Turkish charity

Israel has asked the United States to consider outlawing the Turkish charity group that was a part of an international flotilla that tried to break Israel's siege of Gaza Strip in May, Israeli officials said on Wednesday.

A group of concerned people individually formed IHH in response to attempt to "ethnic cleansing" of Serbs in Bosnia, largest genocide committed after the World War II, IHH says on its website. Since then, IHH volunteers keeps aid missions throughout the world.

Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman requested the outlawing of the IHH, or Foundation for Human Rights and Freedoms and Humanitarian Relief, at a meeting with visiting U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano on Tuesday.
