Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan Faisal Karim Kundi and an accompanying delegation of Pakistani lawmakers paid a visit on Wednesday to the Turkish parliament.
Kundi and the Pakistani lawmakers met with Sadik Yakut, acting speaker of the Turkish national assembly, and Ziyaeddin Akbulut, chairperson of the Internal Affairs Committee with the Turkish parliament.
Yakut said during the meeting that Pakistan was a sister country to Turkey, adding, "perfect relations between the two countries set a model for the international community."
Yakut said Pakistan played a key role for political, economic and cultural dynamics in its region, adding that the improvement of cooperation would serve the interests of the regional countries.
Kundi, on his part, said his country was grateful for Turkey's support and aid to the victims of Pakistan's greatest flood disaster.
"We will never forget Turkey's helping hand. It was an honor for us to welcome Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his wife Emine Erdogan in Pakistan," Kundi said.
