Munir Karaloglu, the Governor of Van, and Palestinian Ambassador in Ankara Nabil Maarouf have signed a protocol for the establishment of a Palestinian school in Van, in eastern Turkey.
In a released statement, the Palestinian Embassy said that Ambassador Maarouf delivered 835 thousand Turkish liras (TL), that was collected to be used for the establishment of the school, to Governor Karaoglu on Monday, before the signing of the protocol.
The Palestinian school, planned to be constructed in Van, will begin accepting students during the 2013-2014 academic year.
The Embassy of Palestine had organized a charity dinner for the victims of the earthquake that occurred in Van in 2011.
The school which would be established with the money collected in the charity dinner would be named as “Palestinian School.”
Palestinian President Abbas will send the Palestinian stones to be used for the school's exterior facade lining.
