Turkish State Minister for foreign trade Zafer Caglayan said Wednesday that Portugal offered investment opportunities worth 15 billion euros to Turkish businesspeople in the fields
of speed trains, airports, dams and bridges.
Speaking to reporters after meeting Portuguese Prime Minister Jose Socrates and Minister for Public Works, Transportation and Communications Antonio Mendonca, Minister Caglayan said that the Portuguese businesspeople must look at Turkey as a door to Africa, Middle East and Caucasus.
We look at Portugal as a door to certain African countries and Latin America, Caglayan said.
Touching on recent incidents in Libya, Caglayan said that Turkish businesspeople and workers who were evacuated from Libya would return to Libya once the unrest was over.
