Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, Emir of Qatar, expressed condolences during his meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan over the loss of life in Israeli attack on aid flotilla.
Al-Thani, who was on his way to Britain, landed in Turkey to meet with Erdogan in Ankara on Wednesday to offer condolences to Turkey, diplomats said.
Al-Thani also voiced Qatari people's gratitude to Turkey for humanistic sensitivity shown regarding aid to Gazan people, diplomats said.
On Monday, Israeli naval forces stormed a convoy of ships of Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) carrying humanitarian aid for Gaza, killing at least 9 people and injuring 30 others. 4 of the dead were Turkish citizens.
