Turkey membership at UN security council ends

 
Turkey's temporary membership at the United Nations Security Council's 2009-2010 term has ended.

Turkey's tenure at the 15 member UN Security Council had begun on January 1, 2009. Since then, Turkey assumed the term presidency at the UN Security Council twice.

During her tenure at the UN Security Council, Turkey organized crucial summits on "preserving peace" and "counter-terrorism".
