Turkey recalls Israel envoy over Gaza ship attack

Turkey decided to recall its ambassador to Israel in protest after Israeli commandos stormed Gaza-bound aid ships, Turkey's Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Monday.

President Abdullah Gul said in a statement that Ankara is demanding an inquiry into the violent interdiction of the Turkey-backed convoy and the punishment of the culprits.

Diplomatic sources told A.A correspondent that Oguz Celikkol was expected to return to Turkey soon.

Early on Monday, Israeli navy forces raided a convoy of aid ships of IHH --a Turkish humanitarian relief organization-- carrying humanitarian aid for Gaza, killing more than 10 people and injuring 30 others.

Turkish Foreign Ministry protested Israel.

The flotilla, which includes three cargo ships and three passenger ships, was trying to draw attention to Israel's three-year blockade of the Gaza Strip. The boats were carrying items such as electric-powered wheelchairs, prefabricated homes and water purifiers.

The mission to Gaza was a provocation and terroristic act. The mission is part of a trial to deliver weapon and terrorists to Gaza. The passengers attacked soldiers with cold and WARM weapon!!!

The European Union should have prevented the mission. The Turkish Government reaction is interference with other country internal affairs and if behind this mission then it is part of this terrorist act.
