Turkey will not participate in a prospective meeting of the Turkey-European Union Joint Parliamentary Committee meeting with Greek Cypriot administration at the rotating helm of the Union, a Turkish lawmaker has said.

Afif Demirkiran, co-chairman of the committee, said in a written statement on Friday that the meeting, originally scheduled for end of 2012, will be held in February 2013.

Demirkiran said the agenda of the meeting would include relations between Turkey and the EU, the Syria crisis and Turkey's efforts to write a new constitution.
