Turkey and Russia will sign various agreements, including one on the liberalization of visas, during Medvedev's stay in Ankara.

Turkey welcomes Russia's Medvedev

Turkish President Abdullah Gul has welcomed Russian President Dmitry Medvedev with an official ceremony in Ankara on Wednesday.

The ceremony was attended by Speaker of Turkish Parliament Mehmet Ali Sahin, State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Interior Minister Besir Atalay, Transportation Minister Binali Yildirim, Agriculture and Rural Affairs Minister Mehdi Eker, Undersecretary of Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Feridun Sinirlioglu, Governor of Ankara Kemal Onal and other dignitaries.

After a tete-a-tete meeting, Gul and Medvedev will proceed to a meeting between the Turkish and Russian delegations.

President Medvedev arrived in Ankara on Tuesday evening. He is in Turkey on a two-day formal visit.
