Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said on Monday that Tunisian people would make final decision regarding the transformation process and Turkey would always support Tunisia in that historical journey.
Davutoglu, who is visiting Tunisia as the Chairman of the Committee of Ministers of Council of Europe, met with COE Secretary General Thorbjorn Jagland and Tunisian officials. Later Davutoglu, Jagland and Tunisian Prime Minister Mohamed Ghannouchi held a press conference.
Ghannouchi said that talks were very fruitful and they discussed developments in Tunisia. Ghannouchi said that he was pleased with statements by Davutoglu and Jagland who said that they would support Tunisia.
Davutoglu said that they were visiting Tunisia to discuss political transformation and to get information on problems in that country.
Davutoglu said that COE had much experience with transition processes based on the principles such as human rights, democracy and rule of law, stating that they were ready to extend a great support to Tunisia during its historical transformation.
Jagland also said that they would assist Tunisia during that sensitive period.
