Turkey's energy minister was received by Venezuela's president in Caracas on Thursday.
The closed-door meeting between Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and Turkish Energy & Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz took place at the Presidential Palace in Caracas.
During the gathering, Chavez expressed his desire to pay a visit to Turkey in April, officials said.
Pointing to his country's need for 2 million residences, Chavez also called on Turkey's Housing Development Administration (TOKI) to take part in housing projects in Venezuela, sources added.
Turkish Minister Yildiz arrived in Venezuela on a formal trip on Wednesday.
As part of his visit, Yildiz has so far held talks with Venezuela's Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro Moros and Minister of Energy & Petroleum Rafael Dario Ramirez Carreno.
He is also expected to participate in a meeting of the "Energy Working Group" that was jointly established by Turkey and Venezuela, and visit the Orinico oil belt.
