Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan congratulated Wednesday Almazbek Atambayev on his assuming the prime minister's office in Kyrgyzstan.
Erdogan called Atambayev and wished him success with his new duty, said a statement from the press office of the Turkish prime ministry.
The Kyrgyz prime minister thanked Erdogan and the Turkish nation in return, the statement noted.
Social Democrat Party leader Almazbek Atambayev has been recently named premier with 92 out of 114 votes.
Atambayev, 44, already served as premier under President Kurmanbek Bakiyev, but resigned in 2007 to join the opposition.
