Turkey's State Minister for European Union (EU) and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis had a meeting with Staffan Nilsson, the president of European Economic and Social Committee, in Istanbul on Friday.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the European Movement International (EMI) Istanbul Congress on "Civil Society Organisations challenge public authorities: From political commitment to active dialogue".
Organized in partnership with Third Sector Foundation of Turkey (TUSEV) at the Istanbul Bilgi University,
more than 400 delegates from the civil society sector of candidate and potential candidate countries as well as from the European Union, together with representatives from National Parliaments, Governments and the European Union institutions, discussed and debated on how to best improve the relations between civil society and public authorities.
