Turkey's new envoy presents diplomatic credentials to Iran

Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadi-Nejad said Thursday Iran and Turkey worked together for constructive efforts in the region and the world.

In a speech delivered while receiving diplomatic credentials from Turkey's new Ambassador in Tehran Umit Yardim, President Ahmadi-Nejad said that Tehran and Ankara had historical areas of joint interests.

Iran and Turkey move together for constructive duties in the world. It is the most important duty of both countries to facilitate security in the region and contribute to the new world order, Ahmadi-Nejad said.

Iran and Turkey are centers of attraction based on their roles in the Islamic world. Iran and Turkey share similar notions on international issues, Ahmadi-Nejad also said.
