Turkey's PM welcomes Kosovo's Thaci in Ankara

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan formally welcomed Kosovo's Prime Minister Hashim Thaci in Ankara on Thursday.

Thaci's visit to Turkey will be the first state visit at prime ministerial level after Kosovo declared independence in February 2008.

The two premiers will hold a tete-a-tete meeting, and then hold a joint press conference.

All aspects of bilateral relations between the two countries as well as regional and international issues will be discussed during Thaci's talks in Turkey.

Erdogan will also host a luncheon in honor of Thaci.

Prime minister Thaci is set to meet with Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Erdogan and Parliament Speaker Mehmet Ali Sahin. He will also have meetings in Istanbul.

He is expected to depart from Turkey on May 22.
