The second Turkish-Chinese Business Forum began in Shanghai on Monday.
Speaking at the forum, Turkish-Chinese Interparliamentary Friendship Group Chairman Abdulkadir Emin Onen recalled that it was the 40th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries, and said that Turkey attached great importance to China.
Noting that there were 350 deputies in the friendship group in Turkey, Onen said that it proved the importance Turkey attached to China.
Onen said that although Turkey and China were in competition in construction sector, the two countries could conduct joint projects in third countries.
Also speaking at the forum, Turkish Ambassador in Beijing Murat Salim Esenli said that the visit of Turkish President Abdullah Gul to China and the strategic cooperation agreements signed by prime ministers of the two countries became important steps in bilateral relations.
Esenli said that Turkish economy was reliable, and he invited Chinese businessmen to invest in Turkey.
The forum will last for three days.
