Chinese Minister of Railways Liu Zhijun visited the Turkish Minister of Transportation Binali Yildirim in Ankara on Friday.
Speaking while receiving Zhijun, Yildirim said that he was pleased to welcome Zhijun and an accompanying delegation to Turkey.
Turkish President Abdullah Gul's visit to China last year was a turning point in bilateral relations. Many agreements were signed with China during Gul's trip last year. We would like to develop relations with China primarily in the field of railways, Yildirim said.
Liu Zhijun said that China paid great importance to cooperation with Turkey in the area of railways.
We are ready to work with Turkey in establishing railways for speed train and developing existing railways, Zhijun said.
I believe that our cooperation would be one based on long term and also be strategic, Zhijun said.
Liu Zhijun invited Yildirim to China.
