Turkish delegation to discuss 'oil for residences' offer in Venezuela

Turkish State Minister Zafer Caglayan said Monday that a technical delegation led by him will travel to Venezuela in the second week of February to discuss Venezuela's offer of "oil in exchange for residences".

Caglayan and Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz held a meeting on Monday to discuss Venezuela's offer to Turkey to provide oil in exchange for residences.

The Chairperson of the Union of Turkish Contractors (TMB) Erdal Eren and Deputy Chairperson of the Housing Administration of Turkey (TOKI) Ercan Tiras also attended today's meeting between Caglayan and Yildiz.

Speaking to reporters following the meeting with Yildiz, Minister Caglayan said that a Turkish technical delegation would travel to Venezuela in the second week of February to prepare the infrastructure for a possible agreement.

In response to a question, Minister Yildiz said that "if an agreement is reached on figures, there was a possibility to extract oil in Venezuela in the next 1 or 1.5 years and bring this oil to Turkey".
