The Friends of Yemen was established with a decision made at the international conference in London on January 27, 2010 in order to assist Yemen in regard to security, economic development and restructuring.

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc left for Saudi Arabia on Tuesday to attend the conference of the Friends of Yemen.

Prior to his departure, Arinc told reporters that the conference would focus on democratization process, security, and assistance to Yemen.

Recalling that a suicide bomber blew on Monday himself up at a military parade rehearsal for Yemen's National Day, killing 100 people and wounded about 300 others, Arinc said that turmoil continued in Yemen.
