Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said on Tuesday that Turkish diplomatic missions in 12 countries came under 75 attacks between 2002-2013.

Speaking at the Turkish Parliament, Turkish FM Davutoglu stated that 209 attacks targeted Turkish companies, associations, representatives and such institutions between 2008-2013.

"Turkish diplomatic missions in 12 countries were targeted by 75 attacks in the last 11 years," told Turkish FM.

Davutoglu noted that Turkey took the necessary initiatives in the receiving country upon any attack on Turkish interests abroad.

"In accordance with the Vienna Conventions on Diplomatic Relations and Consular Relations, the receiving state is responsible of protecting the interests of the sending state and of its nationals, within the limits permitted by international law," he stressed.

Davutoglu also underscored that they took the required physical and electronic security measures accepted internationally in line with the latest technology.
