Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu discussed over the phone on Monday the upcoming Geneva II peace talks with his Iranian counterpart Javad Zarif.
The talks also touched on Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's planned visit to Iran in late January, diplomatic sources said. Turkey expects Iran to make effective and constructive contributions to the talks in an attempt to find an end to the Syrian conflict, Davutoglu said.
The minister also called for an end to ongoing attacks by the Syrian regime and urged the immediate delivery of humanitarian aid. Foreign Minister Zarif reiterated that Tehran also wants to find a peaceful solution to the Syrian crisis, adding that Iran will continue to work closely with Turkey.Güncelleme Tarihi: 20 Ocak 2014, 14:51
