Turkish Interior Minister Besir Atalay attended Thursday a meeting of EU's interior ministers in the Hungarian city of Godollo.

Speaking to AA after the gathering, Atalay said the meeting had been very fruitful for Turkey and he had held talks with his Hungarian, German, Greek and Finnish counterparts on the sidelines of the summit.

Commenting on his meeting with Greek Minister of Citizen Protection Christos Paputsis, Atalay said he would get together with Paputsis in Turkey's northwestern Edirne province next week in order to work for the solution of the problems at the Turkish-Greek border.

Regarding his meeting with German Interior Minister Thomas De Maiziere, Atalay said he had notified his German counterpart about the cancellation of his upcoming visit to Germany due to his busy schedule.

After completing his talks in Hungary, Atalay departed from Budapest for Turkey.
