Three helicopters of the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) have returned to Turkey after helping Albanians who were recently affected by floods in Albania.

The three helicopters, with a total of 21 personnel, helped in rescuing and transferring 1,071 Albanians after the recent deadly floods in Albania.

The helicopters also helped in the distribution of 426,900 kilograms of food materials in Albania.

The three Skorsky helicopters of the TSK were in Albania between December 5 and 19, the Turkish General Staff said on its web site.

The helicopters flew a total of 156 hours and 20 minutes, the Turkish General Staff said.

On December 17, the Albanian General Staff presented the staff members of the three helicopters with the "Medal of Saving Lives".

The three helicopters and their personnel returned to Turkey on December 19, the Turkish General Staff also said.
